(To sit and think a bit)<\/p>\n

A memorial to stand so proud,<\/p>\n

To catch the eye of the passing crowd.<\/p>\n

Take a rest have a seat,<\/p>\n

See who passes, who you meet.<\/p>\n

And while you sit in the cool day air,<\/p>\n

Think about these stone carved chairs.<\/p>\n

To some it\u2019s just a piece of stone,<\/p>\n

To others, a symbol that this was once, their home.<\/p>\n

And when you leave here, And Leave you must.<\/p>\n

Remember those Riflemen, who now are Dust,<\/p>\n

R.I.P<\/p>\n

In memory of all Riflemen.<\/p>\n

Who have passed through Peninsula Barracks<\/p>\n

And called It \u201cHome\u201d.<\/p>\n

Lord Jesus Christ, Who has taught us by Thy Holy Apostle that the powers that be are ordained of God, add we pray Thee, to the old and new fellowship of The Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry the spirit of discipline and self control, that we may ever be brave in danger and patient in suffering, after Thy example, who are with the Father, and the Holy Ghost our God, world without end. O God, whose servant David put off his armour the better to prevail against his enemy.
